In certain cases, an appropriate diagnostic scan tool may be required to initialize the replacement module after installation. This typically occurs when the original ISM/DSM module is completely unresponsive and we are unable to recover or transfer its data.
When the original data cannot be retrieved, we will virginize the donor module and program your vehicle’s VIN into the replacement ISM/DSM. After installation, the module must be initialized and commissioned to the vehicle using a compatible scan tool.
